About this product
Organic Alfalfa Leaf Powder is pure Medicago sativa, the plant Arabic tradition named al-fal-fa, "father of all foods". Alfalfa's roots reach up to 10 metres down, far deeper than most crops, which is why its leaves carry an unusually broad mineral profile.
Key Benefits
- Exceptionally rich in vitamin K: which supports bone health and normal blood clotting
- Broad mineral profile: calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, drawn from deep soil
- High in chlorophyll: supports the body's natural cleansing
- Plant protein and fibre
- Traditionally used to support lactation
- Supports healthy cholesterol balance as part of a balanced diet
How to Use
Start with ½ teaspoon daily, building to 1–2 teaspoons (3–6 g). Mix into water, juice, or a green smoothie. Its taste is mild and grassy. Considerably gentler than spirulina or wheatgrass, which makes it a good first green powder.
Take it in the morning. Do not boil it.
Important: If You Take Warfarin
Alfalfa is very high in vitamin K, which directly counteracts warfarin and similar blood thinners. If you take any anticoagulant, do not take alfalfa without speaking to your doctor first. This is a real, well-documented interaction, not a precautionary note.
People with lupus or other autoimmune conditions should also avoid alfalfa.
Available Sizes
100 g, 200 g, 500 g and 1 kg.
