Curry Leaf Powder is shade-dried Murraya koenigii — kadi patta, the leaf every South Indian tadka starts with. Beyond cooking, curry leaf is a genuine iron and antioxidant source and one of the traditional herbs for hair.
We shade-dry rather than sun-dry, which is what preserves the aroma. Sun-dried curry leaf smells of nothing.
Key Benefits
Dietary iron — curry leaves are a useful plant source, traditionally eaten for exactly this.
Traditionally used for hair — for premature greying and hair strength; a classic ingredient in South Indian hair oil.
Supports digestion — the reason it goes into the tadka in the first place.
Supports healthy blood sugar as part of a balanced diet.
Antioxidant rich.
Available year-round — no more buying a bunch and watching it wilt.
How to Use
Cooking: ½ teaspoon in dal, sambar, rasam, poha or upma. Add near the end.
Chutney podi: mix with roasted dal, chilli and salt.
For iron: ½ teaspoon in buttermilk or warm water daily.
Hair oil: simmer 2 tablespoons in 100 ml coconut oil on low heat for 10 minutes, cool, strain. This is the traditional South Indian preparation for greying.
Hair mask: mix with curd, apply 30 minutes.
Available Sizes
100 g, 200 g, 500 g and 1 kg.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does curry leaf really help greying?
It is one of the most established traditional uses in South India, taken internally for iron and applied as oil. It works gradually as nutritional support, not as a dye.
Is powder as good as fresh leaves?
For nutrition, yes. For the tadka aroma, fresh has the edge — but shade-dried powder keeps far more scent than sun-dried.
Can I eat it daily?
Yes. It is eaten as food across India every day.
Does it taste bitter?
Mildly, in a pleasant aromatic way. It is nothing like neem or karela.
Do you ship to the USA and UK?
Yes — worldwide from India including USA, UK, Canada, UAE, Australia and Singapore. Very popular with Indian families abroad who cannot get fresh kadi patta.
