Nutrition Chaas Masala is the spice blend that turns plain curd and water into proper chaas — roasted cumin, black salt, mint, ajwain and black pepper, freshly ground. No fillers, no artificial flavour, no anti-caking agents.

Packed in 50 g sachets for freshness.

Why Chaas Matters in Ayurveda

Chaas (takra) is not just a summer drink. Ayurveda regards buttermilk as lighter and easier to digest than curd itself, and specifically recommends it after meals to settle the stomach. This masala is built from the digestives that make that work — roasted jeera, ajwain and kala namak.

What Is In It

  • Roasted jeera — the core digestive and the main flavour
  • Kala namak — tang and mineral depth
  • Mint — cooling freshness
  • Ajwain — for gas and heaviness
  • Black pepper — warmth and absorption

Key Benefits

  • Supports digestion after meals — the traditional reason chaas is drunk at lunch
  • Naturally cooling — the standard Indian summer defence against heat
  • Supports hydration and replaces electrolytes lost in hot weather
  • Lighter than curd and easier on the stomach
  • Far better than any packaged soft drink

How to Make Chaas

Whisk 1 part curd with 3 parts water until smooth. Add ¼ to ½ teaspoon of chaas masala per glass. Stir, and serve cool.

Ayurvedic note: take chaas at lunch rather than dinner, and at room temperature rather than ice-cold — that is when digestion actually benefits.

Also good on raita, curd rice, and sprinkled over salads.

Available Sizes

100 g (50 g × 2) · 200 g (50 g × 4) · 300 g (50 g × 6).

Frequently Asked Questions

How much per glass?

A quarter to half a teaspoon. Start small — it contains black salt.

Chaas masala or chaat masala?

Chaas masala is jeera-forward and cooling, for drinks. Chaat masala is amchur-forward and tangy, for snacks and fruit.

Can I use it in lassi?

In salted lassi, yes. Not in sweet lassi.

Is it good for acidity?

Chaas is traditionally taken for exactly that. Ajwain and jeera are the classic Indian remedies for heaviness and gas.
