Organic Tesu Flower Powder is dried and milled palash flowers (Butea monosperma) — called kesuda in Gujarati and tesu in Hindi. This is the original Holi colour: before synthetic dye existed, tesu flowers soaked overnight in water were the colour of the festival across North and West India.
Two Traditional Uses
1. Natural Holi colour
Soak 2–3 tablespoons in a litre of water overnight. By morning you have a natural saffron-orange wet colour, completely safe on skin and safe for the drains afterwards. This is the authentic way of playing Holi.
Tesu flowers are traditionally added to bathing water in summer for heat rashes and prickly heat. Add 2 tablespoons to a bucket of warm water and let it steep before bathing. The flowers are rich in sulphur, which is why they are classically used for skin.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make Holi colour from it?
Soak 2–3 tablespoons per litre of water overnight, strain if you prefer, and use as wet colour.
How is this different from the orange gulal?
This is the raw flower powder for making traditional wet colour and for skin use. The gulal is a ready dry powder on an arrowroot base.
Will it stain clothes?
It gives a natural orange tint that washes out far more easily than chemical colour. Play in older clothes anyway.
Can I use it on skin outside Holi?
Yes — in bathing water for prickly heat, which is a long-standing summer practice.
