About this product
Organic Triphala Powder is Ayurveda's most-used formulation, literally "three fruits": Amla (Emblica officinalis), Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) and Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica). It is traditionally taken at night for gentle, non-habit-forming digestive regularity, and is valued for its downstream effects on skin clarity and body detoxification. Sourced, dried and blended on Nisarg Organic Farm, Gujarat, India.
Key Benefits of Triphala
- Gentle digestive regularity: unlike stimulant laxatives, triphala is traditionally described as non-habit-forming and is taken long term in Ayurveda.
- Supports gut health: traditionally used to tone the digestive tract rather than force it.
- Glowing skin: in Ayurveda, clear skin follows clear digestion; this is why triphala is a skin herb too.
- Supports weight management alongside diet: by supporting regular elimination and metabolism.
- Natural antioxidants & vitamin C from the amla component.
- Eye wash tradition: triphala water is classically used as an eye rinse (netra tarpana).
How to Use Triphala Powder
The classical method: ½ to 1 teaspoon in a cup of warm water, taken at bedtime, on an empty stomach. Add honey or jaggery if the taste is difficult.
For skin and detox: ½ tsp in warm water first thing in the morning instead of at night.
Overnight infusion: soak 1 tsp in a glass of water overnight, strain, and drink in the morning, gentler on sensitive stomachs.
Start with ½ tsp for the first week and increase only if needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I take triphala: morning or night?
Night before bed is the traditional timing for digestion and regularity. Morning on an empty stomach is preferred when the goal is detox and skin.
Is triphala a laxative?
Triphala works differently from stimulant laxatives like senna. It is traditionally described as a bowel tonic and is taken long term in Ayurveda without dependence. If you have chronic constipation, see a doctor.
How long does triphala take to work?
Many people notice digestive changes within 3–7 days. Skin and long-term benefits build over 4–8 weeks.
Can I take triphala every day, long term?
Yes. That is exactly how it is used in Ayurveda. Some practitioners recommend a short break every few months.
Why does triphala taste so bitter?
Triphala contains five of Ayurveda's six tastes. The astringency is part of its action. Warm water with honey, or the overnight-soak method, makes it much easier.
Who should avoid triphala?
Pregnant and nursing women, and anyone with diarrhoea, ulcerative colitis or on blood thinners, should consult a doctor first.
Do you ship triphala to the USA and UK?
Yes: worldwide shipping from India including USA, UK, Canada, UAE, Australia and Singapore.
